winter looks

As a child I used to go on hiking trips with my family to New Hampshire, Lake Placid...When I saw the winter collection this season these cozy memories at the fire place and hiking through rustic trails came back to me. I love the contrast of these natural hues and fabrics against our modern day tech world. It creates a much needed balance. No kids, we don't come from robots!lol. These pics were all taken from the internet and compiled on Photoshop. The top is Zara, I loved their collection this season. I went into their Madison Ave.(I think) store and I was taken by the colors, textures and mood..they really nailed the look. Next are illustrations inspired by fashion by a wonderful artist,Cecile Mancion. On the bottom are three looks from Marc by Marc Jacobs runway I wish I could have embedded the video but i couldn't so here's a link, watch it, it's really neat(as usual!) and I love the music!
Enjoy and have a warm ,wonderful ,and cozy winter,

hey teacher!

Yes folks, the rumors are true..I AM OFFICIALLY A TEACHER!! I am as shocked as you all are. I saw a Teaching job availability in the "help wanted" section of a paper at my grandma's house. Having nothing to lose I called to inquire...And I was hired over the phone! "How about you come in and try it out" said the secretary. And that exactly what I did and It is about a week later and I'm still there. That pic was drawn by Norman Rockwell (so no, it's not me)!
Teaching and preparing is quiet draining especially on little sleep.I think I'll go take a nap before class starts in an hour.
ps. It's been a while since I last posted that I almost forgot the password!
SO LONG...

just tackle it.

Hi everyone. hope you had a nice weekend. Here's the story...I was making a scrapbook way back in July for my sis and her husband as a "thank you" for hosting me in Israel. My attic room was my work place and it turned in a HUGE scrapbook heaven a.k.a. mess, covered in papers, photos, ribbons, stickers...and stuffs!! When the scrapbook was completed ,I closed the door to the wreck and tried to forget about it. However, it kept creeping up onto my to-do list every time I wanted a big, quiet place to work in. So last week I braved myself and headed upstairs bracing my self for the hardest job ever. But like all large tasks once you tackle it you realize it's not all that hard. After some time I was able to see the floor..and after some more time the table. I later organized the scrapbook stuff put them on a empty bookshelf.I then brought up some art stuff and since then have been taking advantage of this nice ,clean ,work space.
Lesson learnt: Things in life look scarier then they really are; once you tackle it you realize it's really not that hard!
Here are pics of the cleaned up space and a poster I drew after "operation clean up" which is hanging on the back of my door.
Have a successful week!

"Say Cheese"

Have fun with this free french photo booth website, La PhotoCabin
...all you need is a webcam and a pocket of smiles.
In order to remain incognito, I took my pics with old receipt rolls as my eyeballs.
No, you don't have to do that...lol
Have fun snapping..!

pretty pirate

after sitting in class for 7 hours
I come home
and create this
Q:why a pirate?
A:well when one eye doesn't work out you just put a patch
(that's an old trick of mine)
and bingo a pirate + she's pretty = pretty pirate.
May you all have a great weekend
and I hope you don't get hijacked by pirates...
these days you can never be too safe.
ps. a post will be made in honor of the first person that comments to what program i made this on
hint: it starts with a p and ends with a p.
heeheehee
good luck,
