found

Thank goodness! Friday I got into my mothers van, opened the drink holder and tada! there was my "missing"camera. Now i can happily snap pics of my work and share them with you. This picture was really one girl(the first one) but with the new Photoshop CS5's  Puppet Tool, you can move around your images like puppet. That gives me endless possibilities...YAY! Thanks "Westy" for showing me how access the tool. As to why the comment button wasn't working- I do not know. Something is probably down with Blogger hopefully it will clear up soon.
Have a great week,
Laura

blogging

Hi this is a funny and realistic self-cartoon.I should enjoy "blogging in bed" for a few more days cuz tuesday ,9:00 I'm going to be sitting in a desk in college.
And here's a poem: (made up on the spot)
In the morning,out of bed,
people try to wake their head.
Some crave a tall glass of juice,
others want a good masseuse.
Some need strong coffee to get on track,
but all i need is my baby mac!
HAVE A GREAT DAY PEOPLES!!

And i am home missing it...

fall

I made this on (you got it!) Photoshop. I wanted it to look like a page-taken-out-of-a-magazine style. And yes, i do like that plum Marc Jacobs cross body bag a lot..but then again i like most MJ stuff so i dont know if it counts? And those Jcrew boots are so rugged + classy + comfy..love it! Lastly that adorable coral red umbrella covered in hand drawn illustrations. With that you want people looking into your bag, don't you?! But it's still summer, 90 degrees and humid ...who's thinking about fall? Ye, aside from me and all the clothing stores.
HAVE A SUPER DAY!!& SMILE :) and enjoy summer while it lasts!

high

This is probably my most profound post in the history of Paislies.
When driving past ground zero the other night i was greeted by a surprise. The once desolate ground now boasted two- many floors- steel frame structures. My father pointed out, that once the foundation is set the rest of the building can fly up.
**In life once we get past the trivialities and set up a strong, solid base we can reach unimaginable hights.**

hat

ps. did i mention i like my fedora. lol
I got it yesterday and it is now proudly being displayed in my room.
How i got it to look like a sketch, is thanks to Photoshop > Filter > Artistic > Poster Edges.
Enjoy ,have a super day and stay shady.

fun

= mini fedora+glass coke+boyfriend jacket+keds

= yellow sundress+oversized bow+old school glasses+patent leather white boots.
=big shades+oversized tunic+belt+bright pink pencil skirt+ballet flats
Here are the pictures i promised I'd make, actually what really pushed/inspired me was when i visited Pop Pop Portraits . I looove her cute little people and detailed descriptions. Well these little girlies were done by me with a pen and color pencils. I disconnected my Pc last minth and my scanner was installed to it. So now to get these girlies onto the computer I made the background of my mac white then i made it the brightest it could be. Next i propped up the paper and with my canon camera..viola.. snap! Then the memory card goes into the mac and the pic is edited on Photoshop.I think the results are pretty close to using a scanner  . What do you think? Anyway as long as i'm still drawing cuz in August I'm starting SCHOOL AGAIN!! History every morning 9-11:20am ... well i like history, so thats good. Anyway enough rambling. Enjoy the pics!

ink

There are times when I come across a fashion illustration or any illustration in general, and feel this rush to grab a brush/pencil/pen and start drawing. When i saw Gardance Dores's beautiful work i felt that way.So here is her work and mine will soon fallow... (if the inspiration stays long enough for me to get out my stuff.)
Cool isn't it?!
ps. I'm only slightly jealous.

craft

Today i went and bought many scrapbook stuffs including, glue, stickers, bins, paper.. and I'm doing an old time favorite,SCRAPBOOKING! I bought these cute little pink bins (made in Israel) and I'm able to be more organized and that helps me work quicker. The pics were taken in B&W because there was too much color, if there can be such a thing.
HAVE A SUPER DUPER DAY!
ps. it's a secret who the scrapbook is for...so don't tell -thanks.

fish

I don't know how much more fish i can eat,
before i turn into a fish.
But one thing i do know is,
I'm pretty close.
Tuna bagel for brunch...
Tuna steak for supper...
But it could a lot worse...It could be sushi....I'm not complaining.

sleeep

Since i got back Israel I have had a hard time sleeping. Every morning i wake up either 6,7, and luckily recently its becoming more like 8,9. On my B-day 7/11 I woke up (you got it) at 7:11. Freaky isn't it?! I had fun looking online for cute sleeping eye masks. These are the 3 cutest. I compiled them with the help of Adobe photoshop and illustrator. I have a boring black silk mask I bought once for the airplane. Maybe I'll decorate it (or maybe not).
To more sleepful nights- Laura K.

This fun illustration was done in the Anthropoligie notebook I bought back in May. I love working with the different textured paper and seeing how it reacts with the  mediums I apply.  Now that i am home with time on my hands I am able to do what I love to do best- PAINT!!

portrait

This is an attempted self portrait. It doesn't look like me, but it was sure fun to make.
It looks like this girl is ready to vomit or cry. (Maybe she is but, I wouldn't know.) It was first drawn in pencil then outlined in India ink with a thin paintbrush. Lastly it was colored in with my trusty watercolors.

memo

This is me talking to myself. Now in 2010 the world is a tiny planet thanks to the World Wide Web. In seconds someone can google your name and find out your salary, home location and phone number. In addition, people are willingly letting go of their own privacy, posting private stuff on twitter, facebook and blogs. Employers now can easily pay online companies to surf the web for them to find out every little thing about their prospect employee. What's funny is someone right now that i never met in my life can be reading this post or  checking out my blog ;finding out many little things about me. Should i be afraid? I think not.
Have a awesome day in muggy N.Y. or any were else you are on earth.

ads

The graphics in Israel, are in my opinion, far superior to the graphics here. During my past visit, inspired,i decided to make fictitious food advertisements. And these are them. Enjoy and "bon appetite"
