street
That's "illustrated me" today out there shopping today. The location is for illustrative purposes only(the image is from google images). I saw this technique of intergrading real and fake images and i decided to give it a try. The photo was originally all colored , I made it black and white leaving only the fruit and beam colored. And no, I may look sad but I was not it's just the city, hot and spaced look. Have a good day and eat ices.

blue
Today was the end of a long, hard week. Like "The Series of Unfortunate Events" everything seemed to go wrong. I got 2 tickets, failed a test and ruined something else that i don't wish to mention. I drew this pic all on Adobe Illustrator. Now that i got adobe cs5 for my mac and i ordered a graphics tablet my illustrations will be more computerized. I wish to you all and myself a happy, safe and successful week-AMEN

on the same note
I found this quote on Etsy and i thought it was along the lines of the "quote" post.
Enjoy.
Ps. Aren't most of us just plain stupid when it comes to this....rather i should just speak for myself (right?).
Good Day.

quote
My teacher in sem's uncle told her this when she asked him how to give advice to her orphaned siblings.I found it to be very smart. It's really something i must practice before i preach it. But i'm not preaching it,right? I'm just making it accessible to the public lol.

photo
For my photoshop class we need to make a collage of pictures using the photo editing techniques we've learnt this semester. I made this vintage looking album spread. The pictures were all taken this year and aged using very many photo filters and stuff in photoshop. This idea was inspired by the many aged looking pics I have recently seen on blogs.I was curious to try it out myself and I did. "Curiosity killed the cat", but luckly hasnt killed me -yet.

paper cuts
I couldn't resist sharing this,is this normal?! Apparently it's not or Yulia Brodskaya wouldn't be this popular. Yulia, originally from Russia moved to the UK in 2004. Her fame quickly spread and she has become a crafter's celebrity. Her works were used in ads from Starbucks ,Nordstom ,Hermes and many mores. Wow she must have loads of patience and loads of nimble fingers.
cute
I was very excited to see that Etsy blog interviewed Nan Lawson, illustrator, and photographer. I am a big fan of hers, love the style. Enjoy the pics and tell me what you think.

This is what i came up with. The photos are in order of 1. the original green apples 2. my completed apple people 3. the google image.
Enjoy, and have a healthy day.

shades
I made this sunglass guide on adobe illustrator. I am a bit obsessed with sunglasses. And now that i drive they have become a necessity. I can proudly say that i have never spent more then $20 on a pair. I don't plan on raising that limit because they keep on cracking(or is that because they are cheep ??)ps. click on the image to see it in full size.
Have a great and sunny day.

Recently I found myself drawing more and more circus scenes. I cant decide if it's because I love the top-hat look or, that I wish I was a circus performer and not a STUDYING STUDENT!! hurumph!

chirp
Today there was such lovely weather. The sun shone, the birds chirped and I smiled. I believe it is very important to observe nature's beauty and thank the Almighty for putting us into such a spectacular world.
Happy Summer.

wire wrapped ring
I have a new obsession, wire wrapped rings. My mother got me this ring in Soho, NY and, I want to learn how to make it on my own.In the next post i have a simple wire wrapped ring tutorial that I'd like to try. Curtsey of Lytha Studios. Enjoy if you decide to make it or not!
jewelry
Step 1
Cut a length of wire about 12" long. Put the 8mm bead in the middle of the wire, and lay it flat on the mandrel at the line indicating your chosen ring size. Wrap either end of wire around the mandrel and bring it back ot the front so the wire ends lie to either side of the 8mm focal bead.
Step 2
Firmly gripping the wire so it stays taunt, cross the wires around the bead.
Step 3
Again, keeping the wires taught, cross the wires again. As you cross the wires, you want the newly wrapped wire to lay underneath the previous crossed wire.
Step 4
Keeping wrapping the wires around the circle of the bead, keeping pressure on the wire for, and making each new layer wrapped underneath the previous layer.
Step 5
When you have either four or five wraps (my preference), then you're finished wrapping around the bead, and it is time to finish the sides.
Step 6
Before wrapping the sides, clip the excess wire - give yourself about 1.5" of wire on both sides to finish the ring with.
Step 7
Wrap the tail of the wire around one side of the ring. Keep firm pressure on the wire to make nice, neat loops.
Step 8
When you have three or four loops, snip off the excess wire with your wire cutters. I snip mine with the cut on top of the ring so that the end isn't underneath and poking my finger.
Step 9
At this point, I gently squeeze the newly cut tip of wire with my pliers to snug it in so it won't catch or scratch.
Step 10
At this point, I transfer the ring to an unmarked wooden mandrel.
Your ring will not be perfectly shaped after you've finished the wrapping and the sides. I put the ring onto my "cheap" mandrel, and push it firmly down all the way. I turn it around in a circle a few times, and this brings the ring back to the nice, round shape it ought to have. It is also where I straighten out any problems. If the side loops don't fit quite tightly together, you can gently manipulate them into place with pliers while the ring is snug on the mandrel.
Step 11
And that's it, folks! Ready to wear... (and ready to go make another one)

flower
My sister, username "annoying" on this blog(and no she is not annoying- well usually not, lol), asked me if she can try out my water color paints. I complied, and the results are beautiful.I promised her I'd publish her flower picture. This flower is called a Pianese it starts off as a tight ball then magically opens into the most wonderful creation. The smell is heavenly as well aahhhhh! Three cheers for Shuly!
home
I changed the template of this blog I believe 4 times tonight.I found a website that has free templates that are very easy to upload After trying them out I came to the conclusion that my present look beats them all. Moral of the story:the treasure is beneath your feet the whole time. And instead of scanning, editing, and saving pics for my blog i wasted time. Well I actually readied this one picture ,I drew by my sister's place.I love the navy and yellow contrast hope you do too.
